  • Résumé : Africa's development does not depend on the wealth of its subsoil, but on its ability to transform that wealth into prosperity for its people. This is the whole point of local content.
Through this work, Miguel Kashal Katemb demonstrates that local content transcends mere economic policy; it embodies national pride and an ambition for sovereignty. Drawing on best international experiences and the reforms undertaken in the Democratic Republic of Congo, he shows that its effective implementation can transform natural resources into sustainable economic growth, accelerate industrialization, create jobs, and foster a thriving middle class and national champions, true drivers of Africa's development.
Combining doctrinal reflection, legal analysis and operational proposals, this book serves as a guide for public decision-makers, investors, entrepreneurs, academics and all those who aspire to an Africa capable of producing, transforming, innovating and prospering through its own strength.
  • Biographie : Miguel Kashal Katemb is a businessman and investor, statesman, and specialist in public policies for economic sovereignty. He is a recipient of the Forbes Best of Africa award. Awarded in 2024, he is an honorary provincial deputy and honorary provincial minister of Infrastructure, Urban Planning, and Housing for Haut-Katanga. He also headed the Private Sector Subcontracting Regulatory Authority (ARSP). A key player in the reforms initiated under the leadership of President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi , which led to the enactment of the Local Content Law, he advocates a concept of economic sovereignty based on local content, national entrepreneurship, and value creation for the benefit of Congolese people in particular and Africans in general.
