  • Résumé : "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare is a captivating tale of magic, betrayal, forgiveness, and redemption set on a remote island. The play follows Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, who has been exiled to the island along with his daughter Miranda. Using his knowledge of sorcery, Prospero conjures a storm that shipwrecks his enemies, including his treacherous brother Antonio, onto the island. As the survivors explore the mysterious island, they encounter various magical creatures, including Ariel, a spirit bound to serve Prospero, and Caliban, a deformed native who resents Prospero's control over the island. Through a series of enchantments and illusions, Prospero seeks to manipulate his enemies and orchestrate their redemption while ultimately seeking his own liberation from bitterness and vengeance. At its core, "The Tempest" explores themes of power and authority, the transformative power of forgiveness, and the complexities of human nature. As the characters navigate their way through the magical and sometimes perilous landscape of the island, they confront their own flaws and limitations, ultimately finding redemption through acts of mercy and compassion.
