- Résumé : People, Places, Things is a photography book shaped by storytelling and the pursuit of light, and by a long-standing love of photobooks as objects in their own right. It brings together the subjects I return to instinctively, the people I notice in passing, the environments I move through, and the objects that sit between them, pairing photographs with short written reflections that share how and why I make images. The project grows from an ongoing practice of attention: chasing light, observing small human moments, and recognising the connections between people, places, and things. Rather than separating these into strict categories, the book allows them to flow together, reflecting how they exist in experience. Colour and black and white move through the sequence as part of that rhythm. Creating a physical book has been a personal goal for a long time. It’s a way of slowing images down and inviting viewers away from purely digital spaces into something tactile and deliberate. More than a collection of photographs, the book is an attempt to share the process of looking closely, and to encourage others to step outside, pick up a camera, and rediscover the pleasure of making images.
- Biographie : Gareth Llewellyn is a freelance photographer based in Pembrokeshire, Wales, whose work centres on storytelling, light chasing, and a quiet sense of nostalgia. He focuses on people, places, and the details that connect them, working with preferred fixed focal lengths to concentrate on what matters most within each frame. Known for his distinctive use of colour and atmosphere, Gareth approaches photography as an editorial process as much as a visual one. His images are shaped through careful in-camera decisions, continual refinement, and thoughtful curation, not only within individual photographs, but in how different subjects sit alongside one another to form a larger narrative. Alongside commissioned work with international brands and tourism organisations, he maintains an active personal practice and shares educational insights with a large online audience. A strong advocate for photobooks, Gareth sees photography as a lifelong discipline of attention: a way of moving through the world with curiosity, intention, and a commitment to returning.
