Résumé :
The Sultanate of Oman, a land of incredible contrasts where the regal Sea of Oman meets the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean, sits proudly at the crossroads of continents. Rooted in rich maritime heritage, Oman’s famed spirit of openness and connection to the world has endured since precious frankincense placed it at the heart of ancient trade routes. Through the lens of photographer Oliver Pilcher, this new title explores the country’s vibrant history, unique culture, and dramatic landscapes. In Oman, these three elements can be experienced in a single location—for example, in the Jebel Akhdar Mountains or the seaside city of Sur.
Bordered by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Oman stands resolute in its commitment to preserve the nation’s history. Whether it is the strict building codes that ensure traditional aesthetics are maintained, or the over five hundred forts and watchtowers that are diligently protected, Oman offers a trip back in time, complete with contemporary comforts. Blending timeless elegance with raw natural beauty, Oman Odyssey captures the essence of a nation where living traditions meet modern grace, sharing a rare glimpse into one of the most extraordinary corners of the world. -
