  • Résumé : Lola is twenty years old, and the world knows her name. From quiet moments at home to a global community who follow her story, she has become a symbol of resilience, kindness, and the extraordinary power of a small life to touch countless hearts. She has survived heartbreak, rebuilt her world, opened her heart again, and found purpose in giving back. Her journey, still unfolding has inspired people across continents who see in her a reminder that love can return, healing is possible, and hope can be found in the gentlest places. My Life and Lola is the true story of a cat whose magic feels almost cosmic, whose presence stitched a family back together, and whose light continues to guide them through every season. This is not a tale of goodbye. It is a celebration of survival, devotion, and the remarkable impact of a life still being lived. If you’ve ever loved an animal, been saved by one, or wondered how far a single heart can reach, Lola’s story will stay with you long after the final page.
  • Biographie : Niki is a working mum and wife whose life has been deeply shaped by the cats who have shared her world. Lola, Luey and Luca arrived together more than twenty years ago, forming the original trio who would anchor her through early adulthood and beyond. Though both boys have since passed, their memory remains woven into the fabric of her life, shaping the love, humour and tenderness that would one day be shared with hundreds of thousands of people. Lola, the last of the trio, has remained by her side through every chapter, becoming not only a companion but a defining part of her identity. What began as a simple creative outlet, sharing small, honest glimpses of life with Lola unexpectedly grew into a global community of more than 600,000 people. Niki never set out to build an audience; she simply posted authentically, sharing their days as they unfolded. People connected with the quiet moments, the sweet moments and the deeply human ones. They saw in Lola not just a cat, but a personality, a presence, and a reminder of the joy animals bring into our lives. As Niki navigated marriage, motherhood, and the rhythm of working life, Lola remained a steady presence, joined in time by Teddy and George, who brought their own mischief, comfort and character into the home. Juggling a career, raising a child, and keeping a family moving forward is no small task, and through it all, her cats offered a grounding sense of continuity. They were there for the late nights, the early mornings, the milestones, the messy moments, and the quiet ones that often matter most. Watching her child grow up alongside her pets became one of the great joys of her life, a reminder of how deeply animals shape not only us, but the families we build. Niki has always shared the full spectrum of her journey, the laughter, the lightness, the celebrations, but also the heartbreak. When grief came, it was raw and real, and she spoke about it openly. Her honesty created a space where others felt safe to share their own stories of loss and love. It became a reminder that grief is simply love with nowhere to go, and that the bonds we form with our pets are profound, enduring, and worthy of being honoured. Just as she shared the hardest moments, she also shared the happiest ones, falling in love, getting married, becoming a mother, and finding joy in the everyday chaos of family life. Writing this book has been one of the most meaningful experiences of her life. It allowed her to slow down, to reflect, and to honour the journey she has lived with Lola and the cats who came before and after her. It became a way to capture the memories that shaped her, to celebrate the love that carried her through, and to share a story that has touched so many people around the world. Putting their journey into words has been both healing and joyful, a chance to look back with gratitude and forward with hope. Inspired by the love she felt for Lola, Luey, Luca, Teddy and George and by the community that grew around them, Niki founded Lola’s Mission, a charitable effort dedicated to supporting cats in need. It stands as one of her proudest achievements, a way of giving back and honouring the animals who have shaped her life so profoundly. In My Life and Lola, Niki opens the door to her world with honesty, humour and heart. Her story is not just about a cat; it is about companionship, resilience, family, and the unexpected ways love can guide us through life. It is a celebration of the pets who stay by our side through every chapter and the extraordinary impact they have on who we become.
