- Résumé : This book is for those non-Chinese who wanted to melt into Chinese society and didnt know how. They may be unable to find their positions in China where they can use their skills, may also feel emptiness, frustration, imbalance, a sense of injustice, and a loss of identity. The author believes it is possible to live happily in China, because the impact of the ability to communicate is greater than one can imagine. By introducing habits and customs of the society of China and details appearing constantly in Chinese peoples daily life, she will help foreigners understand China and Chinese people, learn effective ways to communicate in this society, and build confidence to live happily here. About the Author: For her all life, Lisa Carducci is a writer, and she has written 67 books and 3,000 articles in a variety of languages. Born in Canada, she majored in Linguistics at the University of Montreal. In China, she taught French and Italian in a Beijing university, worked with China Central Television (overseas service), and later with Beijing Review. In 2001, she was granted the Friendship Award of the Peoples Republic of China for her outstanding contribution to the international friendship and her enthusiastic support to the construction of a modern China. In 2005, she was one of the first foreigners in China to be awarded the permanent residence in the PRC.
