- Résumé : FIAT VERITAS, PEREAT MUNDUS Let truth be done, even if the world must perish. This is not a novel. It is not an essay. It is a witness. From the burning of Notre-Dame to the glass cathedrals of Silicon Valley, La Table Rouge offers a profound spiritual and political reading of our time. Bertrand Scholler examines a world where power no longer governs—it performs; where technology no longer serves—it replaces meaning; and where language itself is emptied by images, data, and procedure. Blending prophecy, investigation, and poetic testimony, Scholler traces the invisible forces shaping modern civilization: the rise of algorithmic authority, the moralization of power, the transformation of faith into management, and the substitution of truth by simulation. Politics, technology, and religion are revealed not as separate domains, but as fronts in a deeper struggle—the struggle for meaning. Neither manifesto nor sermon, La Table Rouge stands on the fault line between collapse and redemption. It speaks to readers who sense that something essential has been lost, and who refuse to accept a future where humanity becomes a function of its machines. A work of spiritual resistance in the age of artificial power. A warning—and an act of faith. Fiat Veritas, Pereat Mundus stands apart from slogans and ready-made positions. Its writing seeks a deeper coherence — one that reconnects facts, time, and meaning. This book is not meant to reassure. It speaks to those who understand that truth is a commitment — and that it always comes at a cost. Bertrand Scholler writes from the edge. Trained in science, economics, and geopolitics, he has spent more than forty years observing the spaces where power falls silent and narratives are manufactured.
- Biographie : Bertrand Scholler has been writing since childhood. For him, writing is not an exercise but a necessity: a way of engaging with reality, of grasping both its underlying coherence and its fractures. He is a graduate engineer of the École des Mines de Nancy, specializing in geophysics, and furthered his education at Sciences Po Paris. This dual background informs a transversal approach to economic, political, and symbolic systems. His path has also led him into the art world, notably through his work as a gallery owner, where he developed a direct relationship with artworks and artists. This experience refined a distinctive way of reading: to see, to connect, to interpret — in other words, to decipher. Since 2001, he has been developing La Table Rouge, a long-term project at the core of his writing. This saga offers a broad reading of the contemporary world, bringing together narrative, analysis of power structures, and spiritual inquiry. At the same time, he has been publishing in-depth letters on Substack for several years, weaving together current events, investigations, and inner reflection in a dense, at times prophetic language, seeking to connect facts, signs, and underlying structures. Bertrand Scholler did not become a writer by declaration. He became one through a process of decantation. After a path marked by turns and upheavals — shaped by accumulation, trials, attention, and inner fidelity — writing emerged as a natural culmination.
