- Résumé : The study emphasises formal Environmental Education (EE) in Rwandan Secondary Schools. The purpose of the study was to examine whether formal Environmental Education is taught as an independent discipline. Having worked with secondary students, academic staff, currulum developers and parents within schools in the City of Kigali in the study, the author established that EE is not taught as such. The material was organized into ten chapters. Based on the research findings, the author developed a learning framework of EE as independent discipline in all subject areas of secondary schools in order to be an effective means of creating knowledge and changing attitude as well as behaviour of students towards the environment and promoting environmental ethical values for sustainable development, even outside of classroom.
- Biographie : Dr. Kagabika Muyuku Boaz was born on 13 July 1957 in R.D. Congo. He is PhD holder in Natural Resources Management from Nkumba University (Uganda). He has experience in Research and published 7 papers in reputed national journals. He is currently a Lecturer at Kigali Independent University/ULK.
