Résumé : During the Second World War, the German navy built five submarines bases on the French Atlantic coast in Brest, Lorient, saint-Nazaire, La Pallice and Bordeaux. In 1943, thes five German bases wera capable of sheltering 98 U-Boote. Lorient alone could hold 30. Being the main base, during wartime, to be used by the German submarines, it was here that the largest protective construction work for the U-Boote was to see daylight.

Biographie : Né en 1970, Luc Braeuer est ingénieur en informatique et officier de réserve. Avec son frère Marc, il est le créateur de trois musées de la Seconde Guerre mondiale : à Utah Beach en Normandie, à Batz-sur-Mer en Loire-Atlantique et à La Rochelle.
Depuis 1998, il a publié 27 livres principalement sur l’histoire des ports de Brest, Lorient et Saint-Nazaire pendant la guerre.
