Résumé : Giving Chinese learners across the world a unique to breathe new life into Chinese culture through performance while enhancing core oral communication skills,this book brings together 17 bilingual scripts based on wellknown China stories. The stories are taken from legends,historical anecdotes and episodes from classical Chinese literature. The Chinese scripts are targeted to be performed by lower intermediate level learners. Scripts are acoompanied by pinyin,English translation, vocabulary notes and discussion questions. The Center for Language Education and Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as the CLEC) of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China has researched and written the Framework of Reference for Chinese Culture and Society in International Chinese Language Education (hereinafter referred to as the Framework of Reference), which defines and specifies the contents and goals of teaching Chinese culture and contemporary national conditions to provide a framework of reference for cultural courses, classroom teaching, textbook compilation and assessing students’ cultural competence in primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities, Confucius Institutes (classrooms) and other Chinese-teaching institutions at home and abroad. As the first framework of reference of its kind used in international Chinese language education, the Framework of Reference intends to provide a comprehensive, systematic, and objective introduction to Chinese culture and contemporary society and make contributions to promoting exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, enriching the world’s cultural diversity, and building a community of shared future for humanity. 本书由18个中英双语剧本组成，取材自家喻户晓的中国神话传说、经典名著或民间趣事，是用中英双语戏剧演绎中国故事的一次重要探索。中文剧本基于《国际中文教育中文水平等级标准》二级水平（词汇量为1272），并对超出二级水平的词语给予注释。为方便教学和表演，全部剧本均有汉语拼音，并设置了问题拓展板块。英文剧本出自经验丰富的母语创作者，语言地道、措辞丰富，以期帮助国内外青少年从更丰富、立体的语言维度学习中国文化、探寻中国价值观。
